Longer School Day and Year
To ensure that every student masters each and every standard, we provide students with a longer school day and longer year.
Curriculum and Development
Engaged in extensive professional development, coaching, and teamwork, our teachers develop units and lessons aligned with quarterly comprehensive assessments (IAs) directly aligned with Massachusetts Frameworks and Roxbury Prep curricula. These assessments and supporting materials form the base for the data-driven instructional model that has greatly enhanced student achievement.
Community Meetings
Every week, the entire student body and staff gather for Community Meeting to celebrate the week. The meeting is hosted by students and includes presentations by academic classes and Enrichment or athletics. Families and friends are always welcome to join in this celebration of our mission and culture of achievement.
Athletics and Enrichment
Many students stay after school to attend tutoring or after school activities, including Book Club, Griffin News, Basketball, Soccer, and Track and Field. Throughout the school year, students go on several field trips, including cultural visits to the Museum of Fine Arts and the Blue Hills Reservation. Every year, the eighth grade class goes on a special four-day field trip to Washington, D.C.
