Our 2020-2021 Application is now available!

Roxbury Prep is a tuition-free public school, and students are admitted by random lottery. We accept applications from students entering grades 5 to 9. There is no interview process, and all students who are residents of Boston, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners, are encouraged to apply.

Families enroll in Roxbury Prep through Apply Boston Charters, the enrollment system for Boston charter schools. Click below to start your application or join a school tour, remember to select Roxbury Prep Charter School when you submit your application!

Our lottery for the 2020-21 school year will be March 10, 2020 at 9 a.m., at Roxbury Prep Mission Hill Campus.
All applications must be received by February 29 at 11:59 p.m. to be considered.

Supplemental Lottery for 2019-2020

Roxbury Prep is currently accepting applications for the upcoming supplemental lotteries to fill openings in select grades for the 2019-2020 school year. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Boston Charter School Application

The Boston Charter School Application allows families to apply for multiple children to several charter schools at once. The online application was created to ease the process for families to apply to one (or many) charter schools located in and near Boston.

Application Process

Admission to Roxbury Prep is non-selective and non-discriminatory, and is won by lottery. Roxbury Prep accepts new students for the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Please note: Roxbury Prep does not accept applications for 10th to 12th grades.

Application for admission to Roxbury Prep is made available to families in three ways:

  • By completing an online application through the Schoolmint website
  • Applying over the phone at (617) 858-2301
  • By completing a paper application

Families can obtain physical copies of the application at each Roxbury Prep campus, at Boston Public Schools Welcome Centers, and other public meeting places.

Physical applications should be mailed via USPS or hand delivered to any of the schools using the Boston Charter School Application or:

Eligibility

All applicants to Roxbury Prep must be a resident of Massachusetts at the time of application. Students are asked to indicate a resident address on the application and provide appropriate documentation.
