Longer School Day
To ensure that every student masters each and every standard, we provide students with a longer school day.
Curriculum and Development
Engaged in extensive professional development, coaching, and teamwork, our teachers develop units and lessons aligned with quarterly comprehensive assessments (IAs) directly aligned with Massachusetts Frameworks and Roxbury Prep curricula. These assessments and supporting materials form the base for the data-driven instructional model that has greatly enhanced student achievement.
Community Meetings
Every week, each grade level’s teachers and students gather for Community Meeting to celebrate the week. Led by our principal, these gatherings celebrate student achievement and culture. We also use these times to talk about upcoming events, and current events in our community, nation and world. Friends and families are always welcome!
Athletics and Enrichment
Many students stay after school to attend tutoring or after school activities, including Dance Club, Griffin Pride Council, Basketball, Soccer & Track and Field. Throughout the school year, students go on several field trips, including cultural visits to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Blue Hills Reservation, and Washington, D.C.
