Longer School Day and Year
To ensure that every student masters each and every standard, we provide students with a longer school day and longer year. We also provide homework help and after-school tutoring, and double periods of English daily.
Curriculum and Development
Engaged in extensive professional development, coaching, and teamwork, our teachers develop units and lessons aligned with quarterly Interim Assessments (IAs) directly aligned with Massachusetts Frameworks and Roxbury Prep curricula. These assessments and supporting materials form the base for the data-driven instructional model that has greatly enhanced student achievement.
Morning Circle
Each grade level participates in a Morning Circle, where all students and staff come together to build community and celebrate academic success. The meeting is hosted by our principal, and incorporates everything from inspirational videos to performances from our Roxbury Prep High School students. Families and friends are always welcome to join in this celebration of our mission and culture of achievement.
Athletics and Enrichment
Many students stay after the extended school day to attend tutoring or after school clubs. Throughout the school year, students go on several field trips, including cultural visits to the Museum of Fine Arts and the Blue Hills Reservation. Every year, the eighth grade class goes on a special four-day field trip to New York City.
