Roxbury Prep schools are aligned around the “3 C’s” — Curriculum, Character, and Community — that have laid the foundation for Roxbury Prep since its opening.

Curriculum

Without good teachers, nothing else matters. Teachers are provided extensive support and coaching in curriculum development, instruction, and assessment, delivering engaging daily lesson and thoughtful, strategic unit plans.

Character

With mandatory uniforms, a structured learning environment, and school values supported by an Advisory curriculum, Roxbury Prep ensures that students develop the academic, social, and moral skills required for success in college and in life.

Community

At Roxbury Prep, we use our talents to make positive contributions to our communities. Through weekly Community Meeting, after school clubs and Enrichment, and local partnerships, Roxbury Prep students enrich their own school community, contribute to the neighborhoods of Roxbury and Dorchester, and benefit from the support of Boston community organizations and philanthropic supporters.

Roxbury Prep History

Since its founding in 1999, Roxbury Prep has provided Boston students and families with an award-winning instructional model that supports their academic and personal growth. We bring joy into learning and change history one student at a time.

Our First School

1999

Roxbury Prep Charter School, Mission Hill Campus opens its doors in Boston as one of the first charter schools in the state of Massachusetts. It is founded on the pillars of community, rigorous academics, and getting our founding class on the path to graduate from college.

Our Network

2010

Roxbury Prep Charter School, Mission Hill Campus formally joins the Uncommon Schools network.

Our Middle Schools

2011 - 2012

We open our second middle school, Roxbury Prep Charter School, Lucy Stone Campus and third middle school, Roxbury Prep Charter School, Dorchester Campus with the support of Uncommon Schools.

Our High School

2015

We open the doors to our high school and are now able to serve students from 5th grade through 12th grade.
