Roxbury Prep is a tuition-free 5-12 public school and we accept applications from students entering grades 5 to 9. The application is free, there is no interview process and students are admitted by random lottery. All students who are residents of Boston, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners, are encouraged to apply.

Families enroll in Roxbury Prep through Apply Boston Charters, the enrollment system for Boston charter schools. Start your application online and remember to select Roxbury Prep Charter School when you submit your application!

Students discussing assignment On March 6th, families will be notified if their child won an offer in our Lottery to enroll into a school of their choice.

Families who do not receive an offer in the Lottery will be placed on the waitlist and notified on a rolling basis as seats become available. New offers are made to families every Wednesday three weeks after the initial lottery!

Uncommon Schools is committed to ensuring that all families have an equal opportunity to enroll in our schools and many of our current families enrolled after being pulling from the waitlist!

Student smiling in classFamilies that receive offers into our schools must complete their school registration form and provide necessary documentation.

If your child was offered a seat at one of the schools on the application, you must accept the offer and complete registration to secure your child’s spot at that school. Completing registration includes proving the following documentation:

  • A proof of address
  • Child birth certificate
  • Immunization record
  • Updated physical (expires yearly)
  • IEP documentation (if applicable)

Admission to Roxbury Prep is non-selective and non-discriminatory, and is won by lottery and is completely FREE.  Roxbury Prep accepts new students for grades 5 through 9. Please note: Roxbury Prep does not accept applications for grades 10 through 12.

Families can complete an application for admission to Roxbury Prep by:

The Boston Charter School Application online allows families to apply for multiple children to several charter schools at once. The online application was created to ease the process for families to apply to one (or many) charter schools located in and near Boston, and is available in nine different languages.

Eligibility

All applicants to Roxbury Prep must be a resident of Massachusetts at the time of application. Students are asked to indicate a resident address on the application and provide appropriate documentation.
