Building Updates

New Roxbury Prep School Building

Construction on Roxbury Prep's new, state-of-the-art campus in Roxbury's Newmarket neighborhood is well underway! Take a peek inside our new 83,000 sq. ft. facility at 71 Proctor St. that will serve grades 6-12 for the 2025-26 School Year!

We are so excited to open the doors of 71 Proctor Street in Newmarket for the 2025-2026 school year. Starting in August of 2025, Proctor Street will serve as the new home of Roxbury Prep High School grades 9-12 as well as Roxbury Prep Proctor Street Middle School, which will serve grades 6-8. Roxbury Prep Dorchester Middle School will remain in its current location at 206 Magnolia Street and will continue to serve grades 5-8. We are so excited to serve the Roxbury Prep community across our two campuses next year!

Frequently Asked Questions

The campus will house both Roxbury Prep High School, serving grades 9-12, and Roxbury Prep Proctor Street Middle School, serving grades 6-8.

83,000 square feet, four stories, serving 900 students

Our new school will be located in the heart of Roxbury at 71 Proctor Street in the Newmarket neighborhood. The site is adjacent to Clifford Park which offers such amenities as baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts.

The new facility will include a full-sized gymnasium, performing arts spaces for stage production, state-of-the-art science labs, and a large cafeteria.

All Roxbury Prep schools use Boston Public Schools Transportation for bussing. We are required to follow all BPS Transportation rules for yellow school busses and student bus passes. 6th-grade students who live more than 1.5 miles away from Roxbury Prep will be assigned a yellow bus. 7th-12th grade students are not eligible for a yellow bus. All 7th-12th grade students who live in Boston will receive a free M7 on the first day of school which is valid for the entire school year.

Public Transportation

  • MBTA Buses: Several MBTA bus routes as well as the Fairmount Line Commuter Rail service operate within one half-mile of our new school.
  • Bicycle Parking: 34 short-term and 34 long-term bicycle parking spaces will be provided. Bicycle parking will be provided via an indoor bicycle room as well as along the Proctor Street frontage.
  • Shuttle Service: Roxbury Prep is planning to join the Newmarket BID which is currently running a shuttle service connecting the Newmarket area with Andrew Station (Red Line), Ruggles Station (Orange Line), and Newmarket Station (Fairmount Line).
  • Parking: Staff parking is available on site.

The Mason Elementary School, the Red Cross, and The Base will be our neighbors on the park. The Base is an organization serving young athletes in Boston, dedicated to both elite training and structured academic support.

We are working to confirm the start and end times for the school, in coordination with Boston Public Schools based on the bussing schedule. We anticipate the start and end times will be similar to the start and end times of our schools this year, which are:

● Middle School: 7:40am – 3:00pm

● High School: 8am – 3:35pm

The middle school and high school will function as two separate and autonomous schools with different staff, school leaders, schedules, and spaces. The schools will be located on separate floors of the building. The middle school will be on the 2nd floor and the high school primarily on the third and fourth floors, with a small number of shared spaces used by both schools (gymnasium and cafeteria).

New families can apply for admission to Roxbury Prep through our website https://roxburyprep.uncommonschools.org/enroll .

Students currently enrolled in Roxbury Prep High School and Roxbury Prep Mission Hill will automatically be transferred to/admitted to the Proctor Street school next year, without needing to reapply or submit an application, including:

● Current 5th-8th graders at Roxbury Prep Mission Hill

● Current 8th graders at Roxbury Prep Dorchester who are planning to attend Roxbury Prep High School next year

● Current students at Roxbury Prep High School (both Nubian Square and Hyde Park Campuses)
