We accept all students, regardless of their needs! The school provides special education services for students in accordance with state and federal special education laws, M.G.L. c71B, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the regulations implementing those laws. Individual Needs Coordinator, in coordination with the Director of Special Education and English Language Learners:

  • Maintain all special education records with state and federal law
  • Schedule all annual Individual Education Plan (IEP) reviews
  • Organize professional development for teaching staff
  • Support teachers in making appropriate curriculum and instruction modifications and accommodations

Please note that all supplemental lotteries are held every non-holiday Wednesday. The last lottery for SY26-27 will be held on February 17th, 2026, two days after the deadline to apply for SY 26-27.

Submit an application to our award winning charter schools. Families can apply at no cost to any of our campuses: Proctor St. serving 6th-12th grade and Dorchester Campus serving 5th-8th grade.

Eligibility (grades 5-9)

  • The deadline to apply is February 15, 2027.
  • Offers will be released March 9, 2027.

On March 9th, families will be notified if their child won an offer in our Lottery to enroll into a school of their choice.

Families who do not receive an offer in the Lottery will be placed on the waitlist and notified on a rolling basis as seats become available. New offers are made to families every Wednesday three weeks after the initial lottery!

Uncommon Schools is committed to ensuring that all families have an equal opportunity to enroll in our schools and many of our current families enrolled after being pulling from the waitlist!

Mar. 9, 2027—Feb. 15, 2028

Families that receive offers into our schools must complete their school registration form and provide necessary documentation.

If your child was offered a seat at one of the schools on the application, you must accept the offer and complete registration to secure your child’s spot at that school. Completing registration includes proving the following documentation:

  • A proof of address
  • Child birth certificate
  • Immunization record
  • Updated physical (expires yearly)
  • IEP documentation (if applicable)

August

Registered families are invited to join us for New Family Orientation to meet school staff, learn about school hours, curriculum, culture, and get ready for a successful 2026–27 school year.

Your school’s main office will share additional orientation details directly with your family.

The first day of school is Monday, August 24, 2026, for all middle school scholars and Grade 9. Grades 10–12 begin Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
